Where it started
Fourteen years ago, BPCA had a problem that will sound familiar to a lot of association leaders. As the largest national association for pest controllers in the UK, they had simply outgrown their website. Worse, it didn't talk to their CRM at all. The membership data lived in OMNET, the system that would later become Eudonet, and the website lived in blissful ignorance of it.
We'd been working with OMNET for years by then, which is exactly why the project made sense. We built BPCA a new website with the CRM integrated deeply from day one, so the site could ask the CRM who a member was instead of guessing.
The brand challenge was its own project. BPCA already had a nationally recognised identity, and it wasn't changing. Our job, working closely with their in-house marketing team and their CRM provider, was to reimagine how that established brand should live on a modern website. The result was a site well ahead of its time, and the start of a partnership that's still running.
What we've built together since
The launch was the beginning, not the deliverable. Over fourteen years the estate has grown piece by piece, always on the same principle: the CRM is the source of truth, and the website reads and renders.
Find a Pest Controller. The public directory that connects people with professional pest controllers across the UK, driven by BPCA's membership data.
The BPCA Registered CPD scheme. We deployed RiverCPD and connected it to the website with single sign-on, giving members one identity across the estate and giving BPCA the platform on which they developed their CPD scheme.
Third-party integrations. Over the years we've supported multiple integrations with systems that connect to or feed from the website, because a membership website is never really one system. It's a junction.
The BPCA Registered mobile app. Built in 2023, and still managed by us on the app store on BPCA's behalf.
Then the CRM changed. The partnership didn't.
Here's the part of this story we'd point any association leader at.
When BPCA moved their CRM to oomi, they didn't need a new website, a new supplier, or a new procurement exercise. They needed the plumbing rebuilt. We completely reengineered the website's integrations to work with oomi, implementing intricate workflows between the two systems, and built almost a dozen customer self-service workflows into the member portal along the way.
The effect on the day-to-day is the point. Members now self-serve for the routine things that used to mean emailing or phoning the BPCA team. By our estimate, those workflows have cut staff admin by up to 60 per cent, and member waiting times have fallen by a similar margin, simply because members no longer wait for a human to do what the portal does instantly.
That's what a well-built integration buys you. Not a prettier website. Fewer Friday afternoons spent on tasks a member could have done themselves in forty seconds.
