EMC
Their project
East Midlands Councils sought to improve its online presence to better serve the 40 local authorities across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland. The primary goal was to develop a user-friendly website offering detailed information about EMC’s services, including councillor support, human resources, development networks, transport, growth initiatives, and asylum and refugee resettlement programmes.
Priorities included enhancing accessibility for all users, simplifying navigation to ensure ease of use, and incorporating current news and events to keep members informed and engaged. This effort aimed to create a centralised, informative platform that effectively supports local authorities across the East Midlands.
Our Approach
We began by understanding EMC's mission and the needs of its member councils. The website features a clean, professional design, simplified navigation, and clearly categorised sections, including 'Councillor Support', 'HR & Development', 'Transport & Growth', and 'Asylum Resettlement'. Responsive design ensures accessibility, while integrated news updates and an events calendar keep members informed and engaged.
The Outcome
The new East Midlands Councils website is a vital resource for local authorities, offering streamlined access to information and support. With improved navigation and responsive design, it enhances collaboration on key issues like housing, transport, and the environment. Positive feedback highlights its effectiveness in facilitating regional cooperation and the ease of accessing essential resources.
